Say something
A seat, a recipe, or a job
Tell me which of the three it is and I will get back to you on Monday. If it is a family recipe you have lost, say so in the first line.
Thank you, your note is on the counter with the others. I answer on Mondays, usually badly and always eventually.
Before you write
Five things I get asked first
How quickly do you answer?
Mondays. I keep the two survey days and the writing days apart, so anything that arrives on a Tuesday sits until the following week. If it is about a seat at the table, say so in the subject line and I will get to it sooner.
Are you taking recipe work?
Yes, for two or three clients at a time. I need six weeks for a set of recipes because everything gets tested three times in a home kitchen, and I will not shorten that for a deadline.
Can I use a recipe from the site?
Cook it as often as you like and feed anyone you want. If you are republishing it, ask first and credit the card number, which is the only thing that identifies it.
Do you travel to shoot?
Within a few hours of Trieste, and only in daylight. I do not own lights and I am not going to start.
Will you look at my recipe?
If you are stuck on something specific, send it and I will tell you what I think is wrong. I am not going to write it for you, but I have been stuck on one pot for a year and I remember what it is like.
